About Joriu
Joriu exists because most relocation content online fails one simple test: is this still true? Visa thresholds move with national wage indices. Spain ended its Golden Visa in April 2025 and rewrote its immigration rules the same year — and thousands of pages still confidently describe the old world.
How we work
- Dated facts. Every guide states when it was last updated and which year's thresholds it quotes.
- Real numbers, named indices. We quote the legal reference (SMI, IPREM) alongside the euro figure, so you can re-verify the moment an index changes.
- Myths get called out. Schengen "visa runs," Golden Visa leftovers, remote work on non-lucrative visas — if popular advice is wrong, we say so directly.
- Guides, not legal advice. We tell you when a decision needs a lawyer or the consulate's own list, and we mean it.
Who's behind it
Joriu is published by the team behind Joriu, whose step-by-step visa and relocation workbooks are used by first-time movers and study-abroad students. The free guides live here; the fill-in toolkits that get the paperwork done live there. That's the whole business model — no ads, no sponsored placements.
