What we collect
If you subscribe to the newsletter or download the free checklist, we collect your email address. That's the only personal data Joriu collects. We use MailerLite to store the list and send emails.
What we don't do
- No advertising networks, no sponsored content, no sale or sharing of your data.
- No cookies required to read the site. We use Umami, a privacy-focused, cookieless analytics tool — it counts visits and popular pages but doesn't build a profile tied to your identity or track you across other sites.
Hosting
Joriu is served via Cloudflare, which processes standard technical request data (IP address, user agent) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, per Cloudflare's own policies.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe anytime via the link in any email.
- Deletion: email support@joriu.com and we'll remove your address from our systems.
Purchases
Products linked from Joriu are sold on joriu.com, which has its own checkout (Stripe) and terms.
Affiliate disclosure
Joriu is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. Some articles contain links to products on Amazon. If you buy something through one of those links we earn a small commission, at no additional cost to you.
Two things we want to be explicit about. First, a commission never buys a placement — we list gear we would actually pack, and nobody pays to appear. Second, we do not run display ads, sponsored posts or paid reviews, and no company sees our articles before publication. Affiliate links and reader tips through Ko-fi are how the guides stay free and unpaywalled.
We also sell our own printable planners and relocation guides at joriu.com. Where an article links to one, that is our own product and we earn the full price.
